TRIP TO THE TEMPLE

Thursday, September 12, 2013

Kamryn wanted to go to the Temple before she left for school at BYU Idaho.  She wanted to be able to go to the temple as often as she could before she left on her Mission on Jan 29.  The St. George temple was closed for cleaning so she chose to go to the Las Vegas Temple.

Kamryn was accompanied by her parents, Kevin and Amber Watt, her grandparents, Judy and Bob Watt and Phemia and Robert Whitefield and her aunt, Kimberly Whitefield.  It was a wonderful day and it was a special time to bond as a family and support Kamryn in her decision to serve the Lord as a missionary.  We were all so happy to be in the Temple with her.  There was a sweet spirit there.

Kam the almost a missionary picture.  Could she look any happier?

Inside the Las Vegas Temple there is is beautiful little garden that has water falls and beautiful plants and benches.  After the Temple ceremony, we went there to take pictures.  It was a quiet and tranquil place.

I asked Kamryn her feelings about going to the temple and this is what she said, "I loved everything about the temple.  It's crazy, because you prepare your whole life for that day, and it made it so special.  I loved that all of my family could be there to support me.  It made the experience that much better.  I have never felt so close to my Heavenly Father and Savior, and I feel really blessed that I had the opportunity to go through and feel the spirit".

We got out of the Temple so late and we were so hungry so we decided to go to a fast place to eat so we could all get on our way home quickly.  So, we ended our spiritual experience at McDonalds.  It was a fun time with family.  Even while we were eating we discussed how wonderful our Temple experience had been.

I forgot to post this picture on the last blog.  I wanted to be sure everyone knew that the Great Danes were also part of the family witnessing the opening of Kam's mission call.

Allie thought she could catch up on some sleep while waiting till Kam opened the letter!

Getting close now!  Allie is starting to wake up.  Ken is ready and Kam is emotional about her call.

KAMRYN RECEIVES HER MISSION CALL

Because of the Labor Day Holiday, her mission call didn't come until Saturday, Septermber 8, 2013.  The whole family assembled on Amber and Kevin's bed.  That is the family gathering spot.  They had to wait a few minutes to get Alex and Brooke on Skype and then the opening could begin.  Look how happy she is and she hasn't even opened the envelope yet!
